Terms of use
Last updated: October 14, 2026
This English version is provided for convenience. If it differs from the Hebrew version, the Hebrew version governs.
Ariach is an online studio for typesetting seforim. These terms are the agreement between us, the operators of Ariach, and anyone who uses it. Opening an account or using the studio means that you agree to them. For any question: support@ariach.com.
Beta period
Ariach is in beta, and is free to use during this period. In practice, this means:
- Features may change, be added or be removed, and the service may at times be unavailable.
- We recommend keeping your own copy of your work: you can export to PDF, Word and the other formats at any time.
- If we move to a paid service, we will announce it in advance. No charge will apply without your explicit consent.
Your account
- The service is intended for people aged 18 and over.
- Your account is personal. Keep your password safe, and let us know if you think someone else has gained access to it.
- You can delete your account at any time from the account menu. The deletion takes place after 30 days, and until then you can cancel it.
Your books remain yours
Everything you upload or write in Ariach — the text, the notes, the settings — belongs to you. You give us only a limited permission: to store the material, to process it in order to typeset it, to back it up, to show it to the people you have added to your books, and to produce from it the files you have requested. We do not publish your books, sell them or use them for any other purpose.
It is your responsibility to make sure that you have the right to use the material you upload, including other people's texts and fonts.
Fonts you upload
You can add fonts of your own to your account, in addition to the fonts Ariach offers. A font is a protected work, and most fonts are licensed on terms that restrict their use. Uploading a font is therefore conditional on your declaration, made with each upload, and the declaration forms part of these terms:
- You hold a valid license for the font, and it permits uploading the font to an online service, typesetting with it and producing PDF and print files with it — including for those who work on your books with you.
- Checking the terms of the license and complying with them is your responsibility alone. Ariach does not check licenses, does not approve them and is not a party to them.
- Any claim, demand or lawsuit by a rights holder in a font you uploaded will be directed to you. If we incur any damage or expense because of it — including compensation, fines, attorneys' fees and legal costs — you will indemnify us for it in full.
- The font is stored in your account and is used only for the books in it: it is shown to those who work on them with you, and embedded in the files you produce. We do not offer it to other users and do not use it for any other purpose.
- With each font, a record of the declaration is kept: who uploaded it, when, from which IP address, and which version of the declaration they agreed to. The record is kept even after the font has been removed.
- We may remove a font without prior notice if a rights holder has contacted us about it, or if we have reasonable grounds to believe that its use is not authorized. Books that used a removed font will be displayed and printed in the regular text font, and the text itself will not be affected.
Fair use
- Do not upload material that infringes the rights of others or is prohibited by law.
- Do not attempt to break into the system, circumvent its limits or deliberately overload it.
- There are reasonable limits on storage space, on the number of books and on weekly use of the Assistant.
An account that harms the service or others may be suspended. We will give advance notice where possible, and let you export your books.
The Assistant and the automatic checks
The Assistant is an AI. It suggests and makes changes at your request, and it can make mistakes. A sweeping change to the text is shown for your approval before it is applied; a change to the design is applied at once; and both can be undone. You remain responsible for checking the result before printing, and the same goes for the spelling checks, the source references and the typesetting.
Your conversations with the Assistant are stored in your account, so that you can find them from any computer. We may read them in order to improve the Assistant and to troubleshoot. A conversation you have deleted is deleted on our side as well, and a conversation you have not touched for 90 days is deleted automatically.
Liability
We make a sincere effort to keep the service working well and your books safe, and we back them up every night. However, this is a free service in beta, and we do not guarantee that it will be continuously available or that the result will suit every need. The final file must be checked before it is sent to print. Our liability for indirect damage, such as the cost of reprinting, is limited to the extent permitted by law. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Hasagas gevul and copyright
Anyone who believes that material in Ariach — a book, a work, a typesetting or a font — encroaches on their rights (hasagas gevul) or infringes their copyright is welcome to write to us at support@ariach.com. So that we can look into the request, include with it:
- Details that identify the material: the name of the book or the work, and exactly what is claimed about it.
- The right claimed and what it is based on — for example, a haskamah and cherem of Gedolei Yisrael on printing the work, a license, or copyright.
- The name and contact details of the person writing, and, if they are writing on behalf of someone else, on whose behalf.
We will review every request and act accordingly, including removing the material or restricting its use where appropriate.
Partnerships
Publishers, type foundries and font designers, institutes, institutions and anyone interested in working together with Ariach — for example, by offering fonts in Ariach's font library — are welcome to write to us at support@ariach.com.
Changes to the terms
A material change to these terms will be published here and emailed to account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect. Anyone who does not agree to the change can export their books and delete their account.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and any dispute concerning them will be heard by the competent court in Israel. The use of personal information is described in the privacy policy.
